A Gainesville man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle on U.S. 129 in Lumpkin County.

At about 3:09 p.m. Michael Nations, 21, was riding his motorcycle north on U.S. 129 just past Boggs Creek Road when he lost control on a curve a slid into oncoming traffic, said Georgia State Patrol trooper Todd Hanson.

He was dead at the scene, Hanson said.
