Gainesville Cancer Moms, a private Facebook group, hosted the second Gainesville Goes Gold event Thursday night on the downtown square.

The event was held to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. Guests were encouraged to wear gold, the ribbon color for the cause.

Proceeds from the event will go toward CURE Childhood Cancer’s research and treatment funding for children.
