An adult and two children were displaced Tuesday by a fire at the Atlanta Street Apartments in Gainesville, according to the city fire department. Firefighters responding about 12:30 p.m. extinguished the fire in the kitchen of the apartment in the 200 block of Atlanta Street, said Division Chief Keith Smith. The fire marshal determined a candle caused the fire, and damage was estimated at $15,000.
