Free health screenings and smoke detectors will be offered from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lula Assembly of Praise.

The church at 6158 Carter St. partnered with Hall County Fire Services to present the Community Risk Reduction event.

Screenings include blood pressure, glucose and blood oxygen.

The fire department will offer fire safety information and have a truck and ambulance at the event. It will also have giveaways for kids.

Those who attend can sign up with the fire department to get a free smoke detector. The Banks County fire department will also be there to sign up any Banks residents.
