A 10-year veteran of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has resigned following her arrest over the weekend on felony charges.
Taryn Johnson, 31, of Smoke Ridge Lane was picked up by authorities Saturday night at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, where she had just returned from an out of town trip.

She was charged by the sheriff’s office for financial identity fraud and violation of oath of office.

Sheriff’s Capt. Frank Huggins said Johnson was released later that night from the Forsyth County Detention Center on $11,220 bond.
Johnson, who was a sergeant, began working for the sheriff’s office on June 1, 1999. Huggins said she was last assigned to the detention center.

He said the charges were the result of a complaint filed against Johnson by Forsyth County resident Tiffany Clark.
Citing the ongoing investigation, Huggins declined to comment further on the matter, other than saying Clark is not an employee of the sheriff’s office.
