Bob Vass was hardly the type of sheriff who stayed in the office during workdays. “I had the pleasure of serving as an investigator specializing in homicides and crimes against persons during his tenure, and I fondly remember that he always made it a point to make his rounds through the building and speak to everyone,” Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch said. “Our hearts are heavy at his loss, but our department and our community are better for having had him as a servant leader.”
