A South Hall resident who practices law in Lawrenceville was named Flowery Branch’s interim solicitor Wednesday morning.

After a 45-minute executive session to discuss personnel, Flowery Branch City Council voted to appoint George A. Shaw Jr. to the position.

As solicitor, he will represent the city in Flowery Branch Municipal Court.

Shaw replaces Tom Csider, who was fired by the council in March. At the time, City Manager Bill Andrew said there was a pattern of cases not moving forward.
