A Flowery Branch man has been indicted on murder charges for the Christmas Day death of his brother.
Mark Alan Fyfe, 53, is accused of shooting his brother Alan Scott Fyfe, 55, on Christmas Day, telling investigators he did so to protect his own son.
In an Aug. 26 indictment, Fyfe was charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, interference with government property and three counts of felony obstruction of an officer.
On Christmas Day, Mark Fyfe allegedly shot Alan Fyfe multiple times at a River Hill Drive residence in Flowery Branch.
Fyfe was arrested following a standoff, but he did not leave peacefully, according to court documents.
The three obstruction charges result from violence against three separate investigators, in both his arrest and interview with police. Fyfe allegedly head butted one investigator, pushed another and pulled on a third officer’s lanyard to make him fall, according to the indictment.
According to the indictments, Fyfe is also accused of “kicking the back window and door of the patrol car, breaking the rear window and two lights and damaging the door of the car,” resulting in the government property interference charge.
