A Flowery Branch man has been arrested for sexual assault.

David Leroy Delaney, a registered sex offender, was arrested without incident Saturday. He is being held without bond at the Hall County Jail on charges of battery and false imprisonment.

Additional charges related to the sexual assault are pending as the investigation continues, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded early Saturday morning to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center to meet with a female who said she had been sexually assault. The attack occurred in the 3900 block of Warren Road in Flowery Branch.

Delaney has been on the sex offender list since May following his release from prison. He was originally convicted in Gwinnett County of aggravated assault with intent to rape in February 2008.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
