Flowery Branch High School staff member Sherman Childers died Monday as a result of complications from a heart surgery, Hall County schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said.

Childers had been a paraprofessional in the special education department at Flowery Branch High since 2007. He is survived by his wife, Belinda, and two children.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Jesup. Royal Funeral Home in Jesup is handling arrangements.
