An awning at a vacant gas station in Flowery Branch was knocked over by a tractor-trailer, not by high winds or rain as originally thought. The incident at Spout Springs Road and Atlanta Highway occurred Sunday, when rain and stormy conditions were going through the area. Officials originally believed the weather conditions led to the awning toppling, but surveillance video footage showed the awning being hit by the truck.
