A Gainesville woman was killed Monday, Aug. 27, while crossing Old Cornelia Highway after being struck by a flatbed wrecker, according to authorities.

Etta Lewis, 68, was crossing Old Cornelia Highway in the right travel lane while Jeffery Passmore, 49, of Gainesville, was heading east on the highway in a Chevrolet Kodiak flatbed wrecker.
