Firefighters in Gainesville and Hall County battled two unrelated blazes Sunday, neither of which resulted in any injuries.

Gainesville firefighters responded to an apartment fire at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday that affected one apartment and spread to the attic at Forest Avenue Apartments. The complex is at the corner of Forrest Avenue and Bradford Street.

Firefighters were able to douse the fire by 7 p.m., said Gainesville Fire Chief Jon Canada.

People inside the residence alerted authorities about the fire and then left the home uninjured, Canada said.

The cause of the fire was unknown, as authorities are continuing their investigation.

Canada said the apartment sustained a lot of fire, smoke and water damage, but he didn’t have a dollar estimate on the damage.

Further details weren’t immediately available.

In an unrelated fire, Hall County Fire Services is investigating an early Sunday fire at a South Hall mobile home.

"The mobile home is a total loss and is being called suspicious in nature due to it being vacant and not having any power," said Capt. Scott Cagle, fire marshal.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 5159 Cash Road at 5:10 a.m. Flames were visible when they arrived. The home has been unoccupied for the past couple of months, Cagle said.
