Heather Feldman has been named executive director of the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission. She had served as the interim executive director since August before being tapped for the full-time position in late October.
Prior to her time in the interim role, she served as deputy executive director for five months. From January 2012 to April 2016, Feldman served as economic development director. In all, she has more than 15 years of experience with the commission.
The agency’s purpose “is to locally promote and guide proper development of human, natural, physical, social and economic resources in the Georgia Mountains Region.”
The commission’s area covers 3,500 square miles and includes Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White counties.
