An unoccupied farmhouse in North Hall was destroyed in a fire Tuesday morning, officials said. No one was hurt.

The fire at the 2,200 square-foot house at 8272 Belton Bridge Road was reported by a passerby shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday, Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said.

Firefighters made an interior attack on the home but were unable to save it from destruction, Cagle said. The owner of the home was preparing to rent it soon but no one was living there at the time, Cagle said. The home was valued at $125,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is thought to be accidental, Cagle said.
