Family safely escapes house fire in South Hall

Hall County fire crews worked to put out a South Hall County house fire Friday night that caused $50,000 in damage.

Fire caused extensive damage to a South Hall County home Friday night, but all the residents escaped unharmed, including the family cat.

Hall County Fire Services crews responded to the fire in the 3700 block of Tanners Mill Road around 11:40 p.m., according to spokesman Capt. Zachary Brackett.

Heavy fire was showing from one side of the house, and crews quickly extinguished the blaze. They also were able to rescue the family cat inside. No injuries were reported.

The home estimated at $150,000 in value suffered some 50,000 worth of damage. The cause of the fire was attributed to electrical problems and determined to be accidental.
