Dozens gathered at the Fair Street Neighborhood Center on Wednesday night in Gainesville to honor the 100-year-old Dora Nowells, who has spent eight decades in the city. “Her whole life has been about God, family and her church,” Nowells’ daughter Marilyn Dixon said. The Gainesville centenarian celebrated her 100th birthday Wednesday surrounded by family and friends.
