Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy’s Running Club won the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Grant through the Atlanta Track Club Kilometer Kids program. All 50 Enota runners from grades 2-5 received a free pair of Mizuno tennis shoes and free entries into the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia One Mile race in Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day.
This was Enota’s third year with a Kilometer Kids Running Club. The team was coached by Kristen Payne, Carolyn Stribling and Julie Oliver. Kilometer Kids is a free, game-oriented running program designed to get kids ages 14 and under active.
Practices were held twice a week and consisted of warmups, a running game and a one-mile run with the goal being to have every student run a mile in less than 12 minutes. The fall season culminated with a One Mile Fun Run followed by awards and incentives. For more information on how to get involved visit https://www.atlantatrackclub.org/kilometerkids.
