An eastbound lane of Ridge Road was blocked for nearly two hours Tuesday morning after a tanker full of eggs overturned, according to Gainesville police.

Gainesville Lt. Brian Kelly said no one was injured when the tanker, carrying a load of eggs, overturned shortly before 9 a.m.

No eggs spilled onto the roadway, but the truck will have to be unloaded before it can be moved, Kelly said.

The truck, owned by D & L Trucking, likely was moving too fast when its driver attempted the left turn onto Ridge Road from Queen City Parkway, causing the truck to tip over, Kelly said.
