An East Hall High School Navy JROTC cadet has been selected as the Outstanding JROTC Cadet from the six JROTC units in Northeast Georgia.
Lyman Hall chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution selected Angie Quezada for the honor based on her school record, JROTC record, the recommendation of the senior JROTC instructor and an essay on "How JROTC Has Prepared Me to Be a Better Citizen of the United States."
"Angie is an exceptional cadet and a wonderful young lady," said Maj. Brad McCanna, instructor for East Hall’s JROTC. "She is also a very talented leader. We are all extremely proud of her."
The chapter plans to honor Quezada at a dinner in April. She will receive a bronze medal and a $100 award.
This is the fifth consecutive year that an East Hall cadet has won the regional competition.
Quezada will go on to compete for Georgia Outstanding JROTC Cadet.
With a win, she would become the fourth East Hall cadet to win the state competition in the past five years.
