Dunkin Donuts opens on Thompson Bridge Road

Dunkin' Donuts store manager Brandon Eagle directs his crew Wednesday morning at his new Thompson Bridge Road store on their second day of operations.

The Dunkin’ Donuts on Thompson Bridge Road opened for the first time Tuesday.

Known for its coffee and doughnuts, the company now has two locations in Gainesville. The latest, at 1191 Thompson Bridge Road, has a drive-thru and is located in the former Yonah Burger restaurant, which closed last summer.

Customers familiar with Yonah will notice a more open feel to Dunkin’ with a smaller wall in the middle of the restaurant.

Store manager Brandon Eagle, who came from KFC to work at Dunkin’ Donuts, never saw the building when it was Yonah Burger but said the building’s current setup “feels spacious.”

Eagle said his Dunkin’ location shouldn’t affect business much at the Dunkin’ at the Queen City Parkway-Jesse Jewell Parkway intersection. He said people north of his store will now have a shorter drive to get to a Dunkin’ Donuts.

The new Dunkin’ Donuts location has a variety of seating, with some cushion chairs around small round tables, high-top tables and chairs, plus three small booths.
