A driver was killed in a one-car accident overnight on Cleveland Highway in Gainesville.

Gainesville police responding to the incident after 11 p.m. Monday on the 1700 block of Cleveland Highway/U.S. 129 found that a vehicle had left the road and gone down the embankment and overturned. The driver had been ejected.

Emergency medical crews arrived and found that the person had died at the scene.

The deceased person's identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
