One of the drivers in the Monday crash on Athens Highway has been charged with driving under the influence and failure to yield, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Matthew Roberts, 34, of Gainesville was charged after a collision with Hugh Parks, 67, of Clermont around 3 p.m. Monday on Athens Highway and Gaines Mill Road. Roberts was driving southbound on Athens Highway in a 1990 Dodge van, said GSP Trooper Jonathan Stamey, as Parks drove northbound in a red Ford Ranger.
