Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
In a news releaes, the DOT urges motorists to avoid driving if possible. Although the agency has not implemented a full scale snow and ice operation, its workers are responding to areas where icing of roads has been reported.
Those who must travel tonight can call 511 or check the DOT Web site for updated road conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for potential driving problems. Mixed precipitation is possible from Peachtree City to Athens and north tonight and another shot of it could come Sunday night north of a line from Rome to Cleveland.Sunday's forecast is for rain with a high near 40.
