DOT to close Mundy Mill Road eastbound lanes at I-985
Expect delays as crews replace asphalt on road

Eastbound lanes on Mundy Mill Road under Interstate 985 will be closed from 7 tonight through 7 a.m. Thursday because of road construction.

The westbound lanes at the same location will be converted to one lane in each direction, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The closure is so crews can remove old asphalt and put down new asphalt.

Traffic coming off the interstate on the northbound exit ramp will be forced to turn right as crews will be working in the left-turn area. Motorists can continue up Mundy Mill Road about 500 feet and make a U-turn to travel on Mundy Mill Road westbound.

The work is part of a $75 million reconstruction of the interchange and surrounding roads, a project that is expected to end in December.
