DOT plans meetings on federally funded projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled public information sessions on a four-year plan describing federally funded projects in Northeast Georgia.

The sessions are set for 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at Helen City Hall and 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Jury Assembly Room of the Jackson County Courthouse and Government Complex in Jefferson.

The plan includes interstate and state route improvements, transportation enhancement activities and bridge, maintenance, bicycle, pedestrian and public-transit projects.

It affects Banks, Dawson, Elbert, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Jackson, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White counties.
DOT engineers will be available to answer questions.
