Some maintenance work on Interstate 985 between mile markers 17 and 18 has finished up, with traffic returning to normal.
A Georgia Department of Transportation crew spent Wednesday on the stretch of road replacing a 25-foot section of concrete in the left lane, at one point backing up traffic to Exit 20.
Workers returned this morning and spent more than an hour on the effort, leaving at 10:15 a.m., said spokeswoman Teri Pope.
“There are no other plans for road work on 985 the rest of this week,” she said.
“There is some work going on on the shoulders of (the interstate) where .... crews are cleaning out ditches and that type of thing,” Pope said, adding that work shouldn’t cause any delays other than from onlookers possibly slowing in the area.
