Snow and ice have yet to cause serious trouble throughout Northeast Georgia, and temperatures may reach the upper 60s this week. But the Georgia Department of Transportation says it has the weather-fighting equipment ready to go and a plan in place if and when a winter storm presses them into action. Employees showed off the trucks and plows stored for such duty at the DOT’s District 1 offices off Gillsville Highway, near Athens Highway, in East Hall to area media Wednesday as part of its first-ever “Ready, Set, Snow.”
