Displaced Buford families return to building closed due to bats

Authorities say 14 people who were displaced when health officials closed a Buford apartment building due to bats have been cleared to return home.The Gwinnett Daily Post reported that health officials had closed the apartment building off Buford Highway after bats were discovered in the attic of the complex and in several units.Gwinnett County Public Health Department spokeswoman Karen Shields said the American Red Cross and county and state officials assisted the families after the apartment building was shut down. Authorities said the families were allowed to return to the building on Monday afternoon.
