Gov. Nathan Deal acknowledged Monday morning during a budget signing ceremony in Hall County that Georgians are anxiously awaiting his decision on whether to veto a bill passed in the General Assembly this year that lifts a weapons ban on the state’s public college campuses.

Deal said he was not ready to announce his decision, which must be made by the end of Tuesday, and said no press conference was currently scheduled.

Deal’s office released a statement in March asking for fixes and indicated that he could refuse to sign the so-called “campus carry” legislation.
