Gov. Nathan Deal on Friday appointed Hall County Schools Superintendent Will Schofield to the Education Commission of the States.
The commission helps states develop public education policy by providing research, analysis and leadership along with facilitating collaboration, according to its website.
Schofield is a graduate of the University of Georgia, serving his 24th year in public education. He has served as a high school mathematics teacher, assistant principal, principal and superintendent of three school systems.
Schofield and his wife, Joy, live in Gainesville with their three children.
