Deadlines approaching for U.S. Postal Service packages to arrive by Christmas

The U.S. Postal Service has an array of deadlines so folks will get their packages by Christmas, one of which is Thursday. The Gainesville post office on Green Street will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Customers buzzed in and out of the U.S. Postal Service post office on Green Street in Gainesville on Wednesday afternoon, with many mailing Christmas packages. It’s been a steady stream approaching the holidays. “This is busiest year I’ve seen,” said Jason Thibeault, supervisor at the post office on Green Street, who has been at that location for 11 1/2 years.
