Deadline for Mundy Mill school name ideas extended

The elementary school being built in Mundy Mill subdivision will open for the 2017-18 school year.

The deadline for submitting proposed names for the the new elementary school at Millside Parkway in Gainesville has been extended to Friday.  

The Gainesville school district is seeking the nominations.

The school is being built in Mundy Mill subdivision. It is for kindergarten through fifth grade and will cost $17.4 million. It will be two stories and have about 130,000 square feet.

It will open in August, and the school district will begin moving into the facility in May. A principal for the school is expected to be hired at the board’s Dec. 5 meeting.
