The Cresswind Veterans Support Club conducted its Third Annual Picnic, Dance and Silent Auction to raise more than $10,000 for its charity arm, Cresswind LL Veterans Inc.

About 300 people purchased wristbands and raised the money through donations, sponsorships, raffles and auction proceeds.

The club was formed in 2014 and has approximately 100 members plus spouses. It is a community service club that helps the needy and homeless in Hall County, primarily veterans and their families.

A special recognition was conducted and a Leadership Award was presented on behalf of both the club and the charity to Roy Gogel, founder and past president of the Cresswind Veterans Support Club and founder and president of Cresswind LL Veterans Inc.
