A hearing set for today in U.S. District Court for former Community Bank & Trust lender Randy Jones has been postponed.

According to U.S. District Court documents, Jones previously worked for the bank's branch in Cornelia and allegedly was "directly involved in approving and facilitating faulty loans."

Jones was expected to plead guilty.

On Jan. 29, the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance closed the bank and the FDIC was named as receiver. Ultimately, the company was purchased by South Carolina Bank & Trust, which still operates banks under the CB&T name in Hall, Habersham and nearby counties.

Although Jones' attorney Bruce Maloy appeared in court, the defendant did not.

A new court date has not been set.
