The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will suspend evaluation of permit requests for new private docks on Lake Lanier. The suspension, taking effect Sunday, also affects requests for upgrades to existing private docks, according to a corps news release Monday. “This action is in response to a number of serious boating accidents and water-related deaths on Lake Lanier this year,” the release states.
