A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ranger was attacked Sunday while issuing an alcohol citation at Burton Mill Park off Gaines Ferry Road in Hall County. The ranger, whose name wasn’t available, was patrolling the park when he saw some people with alcoholic beverages in a prohibited area, said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. While issuing a citation for the offense, the ranger “was physically attacked by one of the subjects,” Wilbanks said.
