Jonathan Davis, operations project manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Lanier, has been given a temporary assignment to the corps’ headquarters in Washington.

A corps’ spokesman said Davis would be working in the operations section of the corps at the Pentagon.

Tim Rainey, the operations project manager for Lake Allatoona, has been named as an interim replacement for Davis, whose assignment in Washington is expected to last six months.

Davis, a graduate of Auburn University, was named to the Lanier post in January 2006. He has been with the corps for 30 years and had previous assignments in the agency’s Mobile district and Atlanta regional offices.
