A missing Blairsville woman’s mother has taken to YouTube with a plea to the writer of an anonymous letter.

In a two-minute video released Thursday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Jo Ann Cornwell addresses the person who wrote the Cherokee County, N.C., Sheriff’s Office a letter regarding her daughter Kristi Cornwell’s Aug. 11 abduction.

According to authorities, the writer of the letter said her grandson stayed with her for two weeks around the time of the abduction, drove a car like the one that has circulated in wanted bulletins and resembled a composite sketch released by the GBI.

“I know you are struggling and so concerned for your grandson like I am for Kristi,” Jo Ann Cornwell says in the video.

“I know it’s hard to eat, hard to sleep, just as it is for me. Whether your grandson had anything to do with this abduction or not, you’re concerned that he did. So I just ask you to come forward and give law enforcement the information they need and then let them prove or disprove his innocence or guilt.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the GBI at 800-597-TIPS.
