Michael Hudson is a dealer in “mattress scrap.” With a proud smile, he’ll rattle off last year’s stats: 2.8 million pounds of metal; 249,000 pounds of plastic; 855,000 pounds of foam; 772,000 pounds of wood chips. All that stuff — that mattress scrap — started out as nearly 115,000 mattresses and box springs delivered to Dream Green Mattress Recycling from distribution centers all over the southeastern United States.
