A shipping, packaging and industrial supplies distributor is planning to move operations to Braselton, employing up to 600 people within the next few years.
Uline Inc. has signed a 10-year lease to occupy Braselton Logistics Center, off Ga. 124 south of Interstate 85, according to a press release from Ackerman & Co., an Atlanta-based commercial real estate firm involved in the deal.
The company plans to have 450 workers at the plant, eventually growing to 600, said Duke Uihlein, Uline vice president of distribution.
Jackson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Tom Crow said county officials are “excited to welcome Uline to Jackson County.”
“Uline is a highly successful company, with a reputation of investing in its workforce and in its community,” he said.
And Jim Shaw, president and CEO of the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce, said he expects Uline “will be a great corporate citizen, providing quality jobs with quality pay and exceptional benefits.”
The move, expected in early 2018 with construction finished later this year, would combine operations of two nearby distribution facilities in Gwinnett County, officials said.
Uline currently occupies 498,627 square feet in Duluth and 183,320 square feet in Buford.
“This lease represents a milestone for our company since it gives us the opportunity to establish a consolidated Southeast distribution center in Braselton that will meet the long-term distribution requirements of our growing business,” Uihlein said.
