Student winners of art contest to have their pieces on display at Quinlan

Middle school students from Hall County Schools competed and placed high in Kiwanis’ 13th Annual Charles J. Thurmond Scholarship Awards. The following students will have their art on display at the Quinlan Visual Art Center in Gainesville until Saturday.

Sixth-grade top-three finishers are: First place, Bennett Hylton of Lakeview Academy for “My Green Friend”; second place, Carlie Crane of The Da Vinci Academy for “Robotic Painter”; third place, Lillian White of The Da Vinci Academy for “12:00 AM.”

Seventh-grade top-three finishers are: First place, Holden Turner of The Da Vinci Academy for “Remains”; second place, Sania Bhatti of The Da Vinci Academy for “Blue Neighborhood”; third place, Jaidyn Perry of The Da Vinci Academy for “Love on Fire.”

Eighth-grade winners are: First place, Kimmi Dulaney of The Da Vinci Academy for “Imagination”; second place, Andrea Farmer of The Da Vinci Academy for “Wheeling Along”; third place, Naia Vincent of The Da Vinci Academy for “Harsh Words.”
