DNR speaks about fatal boating incident

Lauren Dunn, a Flowery Branch High graduate, was one of almost 60 Gardner-Webb University students to present their original research at the Life of the Scholar Multidisciplinary Conference on the school’s campus March 19.

Dunn presented “A Comparison of Energy Expenditure Estimations of the Apple Watch and Fitbit Charge HR.” Her mentor was Dr. Jeffrey Hartman, associate professor in the GWU School of Preventive and Rehabilitative Health Sciences.

Dunn was named to the 2012 Times All-Area girls soccer team.

Gardner-Webb is a Christian university located in Boiling Springs, N.C.
