Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville was one of two Georgia hospitals named to “America’s 50 Best Hospitals” by Healthgrades.

The group named its top 50 and top 100 hospitals. The top 50 “are in the top 1 percent of hospitals in the nation for providing overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures consistently for at least six consecutive years,” according to a Healthgrades press release.

“If all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to hospitals achieving Healthgrades 2017 America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award, on average, 179,438 lives could potentially have been saved,” according to the press release.
