Newsmakers in business: Local public defender Vaughn re-elected to State Bar's Board of Governors

Hall County Chief Assistant Public Defender Nicki N. Vaughan of Gainesville was re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 49,000-member State Bar of Georgia and installed June 10 during the organization’s annual meeting.

Vaughan will continue to serve in the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, Post 2 seat on the board. She earned her law degree from the Georgia State University Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1994. Vaughan also serves on the State Bar’s Executive Committee.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
