Bill Coates, senior pastor of First Baptist Church on Green Street in Gainesville, was recognized for completing a five-year term on Mercer University’s Board of Trustees during its annual homecoming meeting on Nov. 4. In addition to his service to the Board of Trustees, Coates is a life member of Mercer’s President’s Club.
