Georgia Mountain Food Bank received $66,647 from Kroger’s annual “Can Hunger” food drive. Every dollar given enables the GMFB to donate five meals to help its five serving counties: Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Lumpkin and Union.
Kroger’s gifts have the potential to help GMFB provide more than 333,000 meals to the food insecure. Glynn Jenkins, public relations director of Kroger’s Atlanta division, said Kroger is extremely grateful to all its customers and associates who generously contributed.
This year’s donation was $25,000 more than last year’s, which could lead to GMFB giving more than 100,000 more meals for the community.
