The Jackson EMC Foundation awarded $147,528 in grants to local agencies, including $50,000 to agencies serving Hall County.

The foundation gave $15,000 each to For Her Glory, Good News Clinics and Next Stop Foundation, while $5,000 went to Quilts for Kids Northeast Georgia Chapter for the purchase of fabric.

For Her Glory is a Gainesville agency that provides breast patients of local counties, including Hall County, with items not covered by insurance. The items include wigs, bras, compression sleeves and gloves.

Good News Clinics is a nonprofit organization that provides free medical and dental care to underserved and uninsured residents of Gainesville and Hall County with 43 volunteer physicians.

Next Stop Foundation is an organization that provides social interaction and recreational opportunities to young adults with mild to moderate disabilities and helps fund an occupational therapist that works with members.

Quilts for Kids Northeast Georgia Chapter is a non-profit organization that uses volunteers to sew comforting quilts that are distributed to children in need.
