The following Gainesville High School students have been awarded the Charles Thurmond Youth Art Scholarship Awards hosted by Kiwanis Club of Gainesville: Lesa Smith, 11th grade, first place, also second place for Best in Show; Veronica Jaimes, 11th grade, first place, National Marine Society Award; Zoe Head, 12th grade, second place; Esmerelda Paez, 10th grade, second place; and Mayela Valdes, 11th grade, third place; Jonah McEver, 10th grade, third place.
