Daughters of the American Revolution honored at national meeting

Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution Helen Martin and Bea Fischer were honored recently in Washington, D.C.

Three members of the Colonel William Candler Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, were recognized at the 2016 American Heritage Forum in Washington, D.C., in June at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Lynda Holmes was the national winner with first-place poetry for “Freedom Rings From A to Z.”

Helen Martin was national winner for her cloth doll, and Ida “Bea” Fischer was Georgia State Regent.
